Things change…

I’ve had my antique table and chairs from my Grandfather’s home in St. Helena for many years.  First I had just the table in our other home but when we moved here my sister gave me the chairs that she had stored in her garage.  I had them all refinished and have used them all these years.  Of course I understand the refinishing probably diminished the actual value of these antiques, but they were not really usable for a family until that was done.  My sister expressed the desire to have these and it is time to let them go.  I have been tired of the “squeaking” sound they make when one sits in them, which I have not found a cure for.  Anyway, this will  happen now so I as hard-pressed to find something else quickly.  I hate “shopping” as anyone who knows me is aware of.  I don’t mind “buying” but I just hate looking and looking for the right thing.  I want stuff to just show up that I like!  Perhaps this is one reason shopping online is so appealing to me!  I became an Amazon Prime member when I bought my Kindle Fire last January, so I have been taking advantage of free shipping on many items, never having to leave the comfort of my home!  I’ve been looking online but haven’t found anything that works for us.  I wanted and oval pedestal table at least 42” to expand to 60” and not oak.  Today when I went to check my Facebook there was an add for Wayfair dining tables on the sidebar.  I went there and found a table I liked.  It is only 58” but that will do just fine.  I then checked back on Amazon and found the same thing there so I ordered it, along with four chairs.  I might order two more chairs but I might other 2 of something else I like as well.  I am fine if they are not “matching” and go together anyway.  So the table is purchased and it is supposed to arrive before we leave for out trip to Hawaii.  YAY! 

Today it’s raining…

I can’t recall it ever raining in Clovis in July but it is today.  Last night we had lovely skies but today this rain will also cleanse the air. 

Grilled Peaches

These were delicious tonight!  Only took a few minutes on the grill for a great summer side dish.  These would also be a great dessert with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top!  Peaches are “in” here right now, Peach Party is the Friday night farmers market theme in Old Town this week. 

A BIG DAY!

We went to Merced today and bought the EXACT Casita Liberty travel trailer we have been hoping for!  It is just like new! The family selling it was so nice and sweet. He is a dentist, but I won't hold that against him. His wife did speak English but with a heavy accent it was hard to understand her sometime but what a sweet and nice young couple. (Christians) They could have sold this trailer for much more. Typically they retain their value and very old ones sell for more than we paid.  They paid over $20K six months ago with the shipping. It is EXACTLY what we wanted. I blame that on the LORD! When I talked to the guy on the phone a few days ago I did ask the color of the interior, as a typical man he did not know for sure if it was the "gray" or "tan" but was pretty sure it was the gray. That is not a deal breaker, though I wanted the Tan...When we got there and saw it, it WAS tan! It has even MORE extras than we would have ordered (AC and heater) it has ALL the extras we wanted as well. They were happy, we were happy. We prayed together before we left. How could it be better?

How my garden grows…

Early spring weather had outside yesterday so we spent time cutting, trimming, transplanting, moving a few plants, etc.  I put in some lettuce and radishes.  I hope they’ll come up and it won’t be too cold for them.  I need more compost before I can do anything else.  John will go get it but he is busy picking lemons to take to Mom’s this next weekend.  Lots of people up there want them and seems almost everyone here has more than they can use themselves!  Spring has Sprung and it is still winter! 

Happy Anniversary

It seems, like just a couple of years ago but it has been 28 years since John and I got married.  We were reflecting last night about our wonderful times and the really challenging times.  The really challenging times have been from children with big life issues and never a reflection of our relationship.  We are both blessed beyond measure and pray we will be together here on this earth for many more years, or that we “depart” on our eternal journey together. 

New Laptop

Okay, new laptop is up and running and I am stressed, but hoping for the best!!!
